Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Palm Beach

Whether you celebrate or not, New Year’s Eve is heading your way. For many, this means getting dressed up and heading out for a midnight party. Champagne, dancing, a stolen kiss as the clock strikes 12—these staples of NYE are easy to find. But why not try something different this year? If you’re ready for a new tradition, ring in the new year with one of these fun events.

Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society
If you’re not one to stay up past your bedtime, try a “noon year’s eve” event like the one at the Palm Beach Zoo.  From 11 am to 1 pm you can enjoy dancing, face painting, animal watching, and a giant sun that drops as the crowd counts down to noon. There’s never been a more fun way to get to bed early.

South Florida Science Center and Aquarium
If you prefer scales to fur, then head across the street from the zoo to the South Florida Science Center & Aquarium. This celebration features everything a kid (or adult with a young spirit) might want—food, games, science demos, and more! This “noon year’s eve” celebration lasts from 11 am to 1 pm. Don’t think of it as celebrating 12 hours early; you’re just celebrating from the wrong time zone.

CityPlace NYE & Snowfall on the Square
CityPlace shops invite you to experience a snowy winter wonderland on NYE when you come to say goodbye to 2018 at their celebration. Snowfall in the square will occur at 6 pm and 7 pm. Additional festivities will begin around 7:30 pm and include a DJ, dance performances, artist demonstrations, and a ($4) champagne toast at midnight.

Sandi Land
This New Year’s Eve, come visit Sandi the world’s largest sand sculpture tree. This 700-ton, 35-foot tall wonder offers a spectacular nightly light and music show beginning at 6:15 and concluding as the new year rings in at midnight. Mini golf, selfie booths, and a whole waterfront of fun activities will help you greet 2019 with cheer.

Harbourside Place
Pretend like you’re in Times Square on NYE when you watch the ball drop from the comfort of the waterfront amphitheater at Harbourside Place. The giant 16-foot screen puts you right in the action as a live musical performance keeps you dancing all night long. Festivities start at 9 pm and continue into January 1st.

Silent Party
Ring in 2019 with the peace and calm of silence…sort of. This “silent” dance party offers guests headphones with three listening stations tuned to different DJs. Guests can boogie to their own personal beats or enjoy some quiet time when they take their headphones off. No speakers or external music means this is a great option for socializing and enjoying an NYE celebration at a normal volume.

Whether you welcome the new year with open arms or hide away under the covers, December 31st is on its way and 2019 is right behind. This year, skip the expensive party and opt for one of these fun, alternative events instead.

Happy New Year!
